Product Description
There are a variety of cigar projects that have been endorsed and inspired by celebrities, but there is one particular pairing that stands out as the quintessential combination of a premium tobacco brand and an iconic figure. This is the case with the Gurkha Tyson 2.0 Undisputed. For those who may not be familiar, Mike Tyson is widely recognized as one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport. Along with other legendary names like Muhammad Ali, Jack Johnson, George Foreman, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Robinson, Tyson's name carries a great deal of respect in the world of combat sports. His record of 50 wins, 44 of which were by knockout, solidifies his reputation as one of the hardest hitters in boxing. With this in mind, it is no surprise that the folks at Gurkha wanted to create a cigar bearing his name that would pack a punch. Jim Colucci, the Gurkha Cigar group president, expressed his excitement for the project, stating, "Our collaboration with Mike Tyson and his teams at LGNDS and Carma HoldCo is a unique one. We believe we have chosen the perfect blends to represent the Tyson 2.0 brand." The Undisputed line offers two different blends, one with a Maduro wrapper and the other with a Habano wrapper. The Maduro blend features a Mexican San Andrs maduro wrapper, a Cameroon binder, and a filler of T13 Corojo and broadleaf tobaccos. As with many Gurkha releases, the origin countries of the tobaccos were kept a secret. The Habano blend boasts an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, an Indonesian binder, and a filler of Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan tobacco. Both cigars fall on the medium-bodied end of the spectrum, making them suitable for a not-too-overpowering morning smoke or a perfect way to end the day with a cocktail or favorite beer. Crafted by El Artista in the Dominican Republic, the presentation of both blends is stunning. Tysons's face adorns either a shimmering golden box or a black box, making this a must-have collector's item for cigar and boxing enthusiasts. Given that both industries are closely intertwined, it is likely that the recipient of this cigar will also appreciate the art of cigar-making. Gurkha has become known for their expertise in creating small-batch, collectible cigars, and the Tyson Undisputed is no exception. With fewer than 3000 boxes on the market, these delectable cigars may eventually become a permanent part of the brand's lineup. However, due to the high quality of the tobacco and the artisan style creation process, there is a sense of urgency to acquire them before they are gone. Gurkha has also been behind successful blends such as the Year of the Dragon, Ghost, Heritage, Treinta, and Colorado. The Year of the Dragon collection, specifically, was a huge success and was overseen by some of the biggest names in the cigar industry. The initial release of just 1500 boxes quickly sold out due to the renowned ingredients and beautiful packaging. If you're having trouble deciding which blend to try, the Habano offers a more earthy flavor with notes of pepper, toast, and spice. This blend pairs well with coffee and pale ales or amber style lagers. The Maduro, on the other hand, boasts tasting notes of dark chocolate and peppery spice, making it a perfect match for cognac, espresso, and dark stout beers. Considering the reasonable price point for both the boxes and individual cigars, it makes sense to own both blends in their two available sizes - the 6x54 Toro Gordo and the 7x60 G
