In 2010, when General Cigar acquired the CAO brand, Tim Ozgener, the former leader of the company, stepped away from the cigar industry to pursue other interests. Over a decade later, Tim has made a comeback and launched a new venture appropriately named Ozgener Family Cigars. This debut collection, known as Bosphorus cigars, is distributed by Crowned Heads, of which Ozgener is a co-owner, and is expertly handcrafted at the renowned Tabacalera Pichardo factory in Nicaragua. This exciting new blend features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and a combination of Ecuadorian and Nicaraguan binders. Beneath lies a robust blend of well-aged Nicaraguan long filler tobacco from the top growing regions of Esteli, Jalapa, and Ometepe. Bosphorus is a medium-to-full-bodied masterpiece that envelops the palate with flavors of earth, wood, delicate floral notes, and a hint of pepper, followed by a satisfyingly sweet finish.
