H. Upmann premiums changed from a Cameroon wrapper to a new type of Connecticut seed wrapper called TBN due to extreme shortages in genuine African Cameroon wrapper. TBN was Indonesian grown and shouldn’t be mixed up with the poor wrapper generated by them throughout the Cigar Boom Era. In fact, TBN is the wrapper used by the big selling Romeo y Julieta 1875 line as well. The H. Upman Certified Vintage are test cigars just as the Cameroon versions from earlier years, which were used to compare the consistency of their blend each year to insure the same great smell and continuity of taste. |
