The fan in the electronic control unit extracts air from inside the humidor and directs it through the cartridge which "charges" the air with moisture. The Cigar Oasis unit then emits the humidified air into the humidor and is then absorbed by the cigars. The amount of time water is consumed will depend on the dimensions of the humidor, how well the humidor is sealed, and the condition of your cigars.
